Brey-Krause bracket on factory sliders?
Hi,
I've recently managed to source a couple of bucket seats, and I want to mount one of the on the driver's side in order to seat a bit more firmly on track days and autocross events. I've ordered a set of Brey-Krause R-9075 brackets to use with the factory sliders, since this seemed like a reasonable option. However, I can't seem to find an installation guide or if there's any more hardware needed. I know how to remove the factory seat, but I'm not sure how to remove it from the sliders. I also don't know which bolt dimension to use for the seat belt receptacle. I do plan on using the original seat belt, though. All in all it seems pretty straightforward, but I always like to be sure that I have everything I need when the brackets arrive from the UK later this week (I live in Sweden). Your input is welcome! |

There it is! I had some things to figure out and adjust. The distance between the holes in the seat brackets was too short, so I had to expand the rear hole by a couple of millimeters. That wasn't too difficult.
But getting the plug for the power seat disassembled so I could remove the seat belt buckle was quite a challenge. Still, the buckle is a bit too short, so I might get a longer one or an extender for it. Any suggestions? The seating position is very good, though. :) http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1625819130.jpg Edit: That's glue residue on the backrest. I had a minor issue with the seat padding... |

I needed to get closer to the floor (too tall) so had to skip the slider, but yours looks like a great solution. Regarding the seatbelt, I´ve seen there are extensions, not sure which ones fits the 986 however. |
Today I rerouted the seat belt through the hole on the side. I've found a "Seat Belt Buckle Extension" for older Porsches, that I think will do the job. Only €75 including shipping and VAT... :D
Another option was to get a buckle from a 997 GT3, but that would have cost around three times as much... |
