2000 Boxster S No Start Issues
2000 Boxster S that is a dedicated road race car. The car ran fine up until the OBD2 port lost power during a performance tune upload via a handheld device. Once this happened, the car would crank but not fire. With the key in the 'ON' position you could hear the throttle body performing its check (clicking sound) and a 'CHECK ENGINE LIGHT' would flash on the dash. The DME was removed and sent to Fabspeed to be checked. It was returned with a clean bill of health. Issue persisted (crank but no start, ,clicking, flashing CEL). Car taken to local Porsche dealership. I was told that the DME was bad. Replacement DME from a wrecker was sourced. The replacement DME was reflashed by Porsche dealer. Porsche says...
"So we installed the new “used” DME and we could communicate with it. It did take our programming however it would not crank over. There was a fault for the W line communication between the DME and immobilizer but we checked continuity and it was good."
Now what? Any ideas?
