Steering Column Swap
My daily ('01 S) has a 3-stalk column, but my recently-acquired '97 has a 4-stalk.
From what I've read on the pelican article: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/91-ELEC-turn_signal_switch_-_OBC_upgrade/91-ELEC-turn_signal_switch_-_OBC_upgrade.htm I can swap this over (the whole column or even just the stalk, I believe), but I have to enable the OBC with a Porsche factory programming tool. Will a durametric work for this? Or do I have to have the PST-2 or PIWIS indicated by Pelican? Any info or links would be appreciated. |
I believe that you can turn on the obc with the Durametric enthusiast version. I know that you can with the pro version

Yes, the "computer" stalk just bolts on, no need to replace whole stalk unit. This is so much easier, it's economical to just throw the rest away if you have to purchase a (used) complete 4-stalk unit. Just transfer it over.
Durametric enthusiast works. BTDT You REALLY want Dwight's wiring harness for this project. http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/53134-obc-addition-cables.html |
