Clutch Pedal Squeaks when pressed
Hey people, My clutch pedal on my 97 box is starting to squeak as i press it down. Has anyone here experienced this? and if so, what joint or hinge did you lube to fix this issue?
Also what did you use to lube it?
The squeak is terribly anoying and makes me feel like im driving a "Not so great" car.
I have 99k miles on my boxster

lol..i got the same thing...with my box....i was told it might be the release fork....or the slave cynlinder...but not suree....(told by P-Dealer)...but that would be a ******************** to get to...since the tranny has to be taken apart to get to that....but yea...its hellvau annoying when u release or push the clutch pedal...the sound seems to come from the clutch assemly itself......i migth have a look at it after i fix my rms issue..

Its definatly coming from the pedal assembly, i dont think i would be able to hear the slave squeak if it was. But the noise i hear is definatly under the dash. Maybe ill take a look tomorrow and ill tell you where to lube once im done ok.

I had the same problem with my 02 and the dealer disassembled my clutch pedal and sprayed some sort of dry film lubricant and it's been quiet ever since.

Its the Slave Cylinder, had mine replaced twice during warranty because of that damn annoying sqeak. It does sound like its coming from the pedal itself but its not.

Still, The slave cyclindar doesnt sound right to me, How would you be able to hear the slave while its behind you, attached to the transmission????
I think theres a possiblity that whoever you took it to may have done unnessesary work to your car + lube your clutch pedal assembly,
Also, Sammy had the same issue with his pedal assembly and its a confirmed fix in his case.
Im not trying to bash you. Its hard for me to believe that i can hear the slave skean under the dash when its located on the transmission on the rear of the car outside of the passenger cabin.

Same problem
My 97 does that as well. Its from under the dash and sounds like its from the clutch pedal/assembly. Its annoying but not enough for me to investigate it yet. Now that its not just my problem i'll try to fix the problem.

Mine did the same thing when I bought it. There is a spring on the clutch pedal that I sprayed with some motorcycle chain wax and the squeek has not returned since.

Mine was coming from under the dash. It sounds like CJ_Boxster may have a similar issue. I know 2 people that I work with who had the exact same issue as well with their Boxsters.

Yeah i took care of teh squeak earlier today, the squeak was coming from this Spring thats attached to the pedal assembly, I think aides in pressing the clutch or pulls it back up....I lubed it up with "Super Grease". I sorta just gooped it all over that spring and the hinges/platforms the spring sat in and that took care of it.
