Clutch Pedal Travel

Hi,

My Boxster was bought with the statement that the clutch was "just replaced".
My pedal travels about 3/4 of the way off of the floor before the drivetrain begins to engage. I have full power just before the pedal neears the full up position.

Is this normal?

Soooo many questions about normal. Probably should have bought one with a warranty.

Probably needs some adjustment to make it engage more toward the middle of the pedal travel. Sometimes a new clutch requires it. Not a big deal and it should be expensive.

Its not an expensive or difficult task to do on ones own. You need to lay on your back and look under the dash at the clutch pedal assembly, theres an adjustment screw and a lock nut, loosen the lock nut and adjust the adjustment screw, then tighten the lock nut and give it a road test....continue to adjust until it feels good to you...

Make sure you dont make it engauge too low cause you can grind your gears if the pressure plate isnt fully disengauged from the clutch disc.

It must be a cable controlled clutch.

I'll be down that way doing the ignition switch. I can make a project day out of it if I wash and wax the car too!

Thanks for the advice.
