Odd noise

I know I am fishing here. After the 2004 Boxster base sits for a week or ten days, on start up there is a thumping rhythmic sound, whap, whap, whap. This has happened twice in the last 3 months. The car is not throwing any codes. It’s not a metallic sound. If I shut it down and re-start, the noise goes away. Is this related to oil pressure? I thought it may be a small critter caught in the serpentine belt, but evidently not. The belt was replaced last November, the water pump pulley was fine. I use Mobil One 0-W-40 oil, and change once a year, every fall with less than 3,000 miles. I’m stumped. Anybody else experience this? Thanks, Mitch
