Moving MAD possible?

If I move the MAF downstream so it connects to the throttle body directly will the DME be able to adjust for the change? I’m thinking off punching a hole through the trunk and installing a straight shot intake (purpose built track car).

Cheers,

vibration. keep some buffer between the engine and the maf.

not a fluid dynamics engineer, but I'd imagine there would be reversion and other disturbances from the TB moving that would mess with the MAF. No manufacturer out there puts the MAF that close to the TB

yes. folks will say that the fuel mapping is tuned for the particular location of the maf wrt airpbox, etc., but i'd suggest that most of that could be adapted for by the ecu. my only worry would be that vibration would result in too much variation in signal such that ecu would not get consistent reliable info. and maf would probably shake itself to pieces. look at location of maf on 996.
