4340 chromoly steel -polish

Any metallurgy experts on here?

Can the "black" surface of 4340 chromoly steel be polished to a gunmetal gray shine with a dremel?

Sure that's the scale from heat treat under that is shiny metal you only need elbow grease to expose it .

Thanks man that is what I wanted to hear.....wasn't sure how deep the scale / discolouration went.
