roll up/down windows j/k. I wore ear plugs in my last car. Didn't think the sound was bad, I can't even hear the exhaust crusing in sixth on the freeway.

RandallNeighbour 04-12-2007 11:51 AM

The cabin noise you hear is called 'resonance.' The way to reduce it is to stay above 3k rpm... bad excuse for a solution, I know! But most of the 2 chamber mufflers out there cause resonance in this rpm range.

blinkwatt 04-12-2007 12:42 PM

How bad is the resonance? Can I hear a phone conversation in the 2-3k RPM range?

RandallNeighbour 04-12-2007 12:53 PM

I can hear someone on the phone when it's at its worst, but I prefer not to talk on the cell phone while trying to shift and steer with both hands so it rarely happens unless I'm cruising down the freeway in 4th or 5th.

Some people just can't tolerate any resonance at all and this muffler is simply not a good choice for them.

I always thought the boxster's exhaust was equal to my Lexus, and I've accidentally redlined once or twice when the radio is up and the top is down because I could not hear the engine.

Che's headers and muffler sure do take care of that now!

I absolutely love overpassess and tunnels. I downshift and really punch it and the reverberation against the walls and cement above is wonderful. Makes driving around on the freeways in Houston a lot more fun.

And a side benefit is that you can set off car alarms in parking garages if you work at it a little (you have to do a lot of revving, so if you're trying to be nice you won't be doing it accidentally).

I think I'm going to tape a little mic onto the back of my bumper and record my exhaust sound onto my laptop and post it on my web site so everyone can hear it.

So hows the power increase with the supercharger? Did it go from kitten to tiger? Or just enough to make you smile?

What was the eBay Seller I.D. that you bought the headers from?

I bet your car hauls a55!

supercharger

I have had the supercharger installed for 2500 miles, it is amazing, the car just pulls and pulls. I am getting it dynoed this coming week, the way I look at it I am running around 300 hp on the lightest boxster made.

It runs!!!

The car is still very drivable, I just got back from a 1800 mile round trip. Gas milliage is about the same, I stayed about 80 the whole way. Getting on the interstate is alot more fun.

I was wrong, I spoke to the shop that installed everything, the headers where custom mafe to fit around the supercharger and the muffler came from someone else. That is the reason I removed the video from this thread I did not want to post the wrong sound files.

The car hauls!!

I don't like posting names of companies on boards that are not sponcers, I will happily tell anyone who did the work, just pm me.

How did you handle the issue with the second oxygen sensor on each side? On the Boxster S there is one sensor before the catlyst at the header and one right after the catlyst.

thanks

Hi tommy986,

The issue with 00-04 Boxster 2.7L 3.2L with 4 O2 sensors still not resolve, currently my Header set up only have 2 O2 sensors. I still had 22 sets Headers to sale before I revised the design to 4 O2 sensors for my next batch production. Thanks !

Che

Che, you mention here that your next production batch will include 4 O2 sensors. Did you mockup your design and test yet?
Thanks.

blinkwatt 06-02-2007 10:24 PM

Bump,I know Randall has had a positive experience with the exhaust & headers, but I haven't heard from others that much. Reviews,it's all about reviews.

Wow what a thread!

Think a few people have egg on their faces.....

Sboxin 06-03-2007 04:45 AM

Bisimoto Engineering has a free header set for the 3.2 engine to install and Dyno.
I guess he has been too busy with his facility moving and summer sales program
to existing business customers to install and Dyno test the deluboz headers and
report back to this Board with the reusults. (hint, hint)

We would all like to know the results of this test.

Maybe someone else could help move this along so we can close out this thread?

Ed
(looking for high quality, low cost headers for 3.2 ...)

Huh. Anyway. I still have and extra set of 02s for my car and my check engine light is on. Can I just weld in two more bungs and be good to go? Probably on the fabspeed side. Then maby no CEL? ???

So are you saying that you are running the 2.5L headers on your 3.2L?

mn box s 06-04-2007 10:15 PM

no I just have two missing bungs... headers (one o2 each), test pipes, muffler

blinkwatt 06-08-2007 12:57 AM
