Please Help! my 99 Boxster just wont start!

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and really need some assistance. My 99 2.5 Auto Boxster cranks but will not start.

I have replaced the fuel pump
I have replaced the fuel pump relay
I have replaced the plugs
I have replaced the crank angle sensor
I have had the injectors done
I have replaced the fuel itself.
If i spray "start you bastard" into the pots it actually fires but wont run.

I did notice that i cant hear my fuel pump running unless i bypass the relay despite having a new relay. Does the pump run as soon as you switch on the ignition?

I am getting fuel all the way to the rail but no fuel pressure.....

Can anyone help?

Thanks for looking

Brett

Brett, you should hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds (to build up pressure) when you first switch on the ignition.
Have you checked the fuel filter? If the filter is passing fuel OK, then it certainly sounds like you could have a faulty pump or pressure regulator or a hose has come off the pump when you installed it. The only real way of telling is to check the pressure @ the rail with a pressure gauge - I think the pressure should be about 3-4 bar.
Use the search function above - lots of no start / fuel pressure questions and answers.

Thanks for your message Steve, we are getting fuel to the rail but thats it, absolutely no pressure at all. I'll give you suggestions a go and get back to you.

Muchly appreciate your help

One other thing that I didn't mention is that the car had been laid up for years. The fuel was completely off. The rubbers 0 rings within the fuel pump housing were buggered. I am wondering what affect this fuel would have on the fuel pressure regulator.

Do have spark :)
plugs are fuel wet
Fuel at the rail but no pressure

Mine was just flooded and i had to put the gas pedal to the floor and crank until it started.

Fuel filter clogged? Maybe some o-ring bits, rust, sour gas clogged it? Not sure where your filter is, under the battery in the fuel tank?

How much fuel pressure do you have before the rails?
