Radiator Fan Resistor Question
 

My 2000 S had two bad resistors. I only had one good resistor on hand, so I replaced one and just bypassed the other. (Removed the resistor and connected the green wires.) It seems to be working fine.
Resistors??? I don't need no stinking resistors. :cool:

Is something terrible going to happen if I keep running it that way?

I wondered the same thing, does that mean that fan will just run at high speed when the low speed relay is triggered, since there is no ballast sucking up the power? If so that seems like the no brainer fix :)

Overspeeding of the fan motor is all I can think of?

The resistor is what keeps the fan at low speed for normal cooling and this circuit is active as soon as temp is reached (basically all the time).

Bypassing it will just make your car more noisy and shorten the fan motor life by 30%-50% (WAG).
