I have 19" rims running Hankook V12's front and rear and get 20,000+ miles before it even gets close to the wear bars. I'm lowered on Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs, it's all about having a good alignment. I have absolutely no rubbing at all even with my steering wheel turned all the way. Scrapping is another story. lol

I can attest to how good the Sumitomo HTR II & HTR IIIs are.

I've had both on my 99 Boxster.

I currently have HTR IIs (17inch).

In the past I averaged 15000 to 16000 miles on the rears and 30,000 miles on the fronts before needing replacement.

When I had four new struts placed on my car, the shop also gave me an alignment.

I got almost 25,000 miles on the last set of rear HTR IIs. The front tires have well over 35,000 miles and I still have plenty of tread left.

I have been very happy with Sumitomo HTR II & HTR IIIs, plus you cannot beat the price. I decided to get the Sumitomo HTRs when I saw a track prepared Cayman in my local Porsche dealer's showroom back in 2009. It had HTR IIIs. Having read about premature rear tire wear, I decided why wast money on super expensive tires that will just wear out in under 15,000 miles.

You can extend the life of your rear tires by switching the rear tires (not the wheels) to the opposite sides once you notice increased wear on the inside of the rear tires. You have to take the tire off the right wheel and place it on the left wheel, and do the same for the left tire.

Just my two-cents
