Ignition key

My wife accidently inserted her Kia key into my Boxster ignition. The key did not break off but now the ignition will not accept my key. Thoughts?

When you say does not accept, do you mean that the key no longer inserts all the way into the lock or when you turn the key there is no start.

The Computer identifies the key by the little transponder pill in the key.

It's more likely that the key has damaged the keyway than any computer confusion.

Also make sure that the steering wheel lock is not tight when you try to turn on the ignition. I have done that before and you can not start the car.

I jiggle the wheel against the steering lock and once the pressure is off the locking pin it is free to retract when you try to start the car.
