BOX S Brake Rotors
Does anybody know why the service manual prohibits machining the BOX S rotors?
The base car rotors can be turned and the minimums are listed but it says the S rotors cannot be machined. |
Likely due to the S rotors being drilled units.

The S rotors work directional. The venting slots in the middle are designed for the left and the right side. Also the the drilled holes coresspond with the venting slots in the middle. So you need a rotor for the left and for the right side.

Does damage to the brake machining bit and because it skips across the holes, yes you can bevel each hole to minimise damage to the bit. thats a lot of holes.... |

I've machined them without issue. Just have to slow the machine down a bit.
