Help! Airbag indicator stays on after window regulator replacement
Yesterday, I replaced my passenger window regulator on my 2001S following instructions from the "101 Projects for Your Porsche Boxster" book. After reassembling everything back I noticed that the airbag indicator light on the dashboard stays on.
This morning I decided to remove the door panel to make sure the airbag connector is securely fastened which it was. I disconnected the battery, disconnected the airbag connector to make sure the cable were secured inside the connector, reconnected the connector, reconnected the battery, start the car, airbag indicator is still on. I'm at lost... I'm not sure what to do next. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Fabrice |
Air bag
You will have to turn the light off with your Durametric. OR Have a Porsche shop turn it off for you>

So, you're saying that there's probably nothing wrong with the airbag, it's just the indicator that needs to be reset? Unfortunately, I don't have a Durametric so I'll have to pay Porsche to reset it  |
Not shure if it will work, but before i would do a reset by Porsche i would disconnect the starter battery for lets say 48 hours. Maybe the this will reset the bcu and the airbag will be accepted.

So, I went to Porsche. The service rep tells me that normally it would cost $98 to reset the code but she can do it for $50... not sure if wanted to laugh or cry :(

reset
Don't cry $50 is still a lot cheaper than a Durametric!!

I did the same thing. Cost me $65.00 to have it reset at the dealership. It wasn't too bad since I walked around, checked out the inventory and had a nice conversation with a salesman while I waited. I considered it a wash.
