IMS timing chain question

Trying to put together (yet another) Pelican parts order, working my way out from the crankshaft. I have enough to complete my crankshaft/bearing carrier assembly and starting to look beyond that to replacing the timing chain from the crank to the IMS.

The pelican site has two types, large sprocket and small sprocket.

How do I identify which one I have?

Both drives are the same, one has an internal tooth type chain, and the other has a duplex style chain. What year is the car?

2000, which tends not to help a bunch when identifying parts.

If needed, I can have my kid forward a pic of the IMS with no chains on it, and I can post it up in a bit.

2000 is the changeover year. Its probably the oddball unit that has a dual row IMSB with the inverted tooth type drive. Thats 2000 only.
Post the pic and I can positively ID it.

That's the original version with the bicycle style chain, just like the other chains in the engine.

Forget about the size of the sprocket, whoever wrote that has never assembled one of these engines. Typical.

You have a duplex style IMS drive, early, pre mid 2000. Also, it looks like your bank 2 IMS sprocket has slipped on the shaft.

Now, do NOT buy the IWIS brand chain, these are fitting the IMS drive too tightly and thousands of them are in circulation as bad parts. The distributors now know about this, and have since we discovered it over the summer, but nothing can be done about all the bad ones already out there, or those sold by people that don't build engines.

The IWIS brand chains are by far superior for the rest of the engine, but in this case they are too narrow to fit properly. Only use the RENOLD chain, which isn't as great of quality, but does fit properly.

Thanks jake. If you dont mind me asking, what is it that you see that indicates my bank 2 sprocket has slipped? Can it be aligned then pinned or welded by a competent machinist?

It looks like one set of teeth are not aligned with the other....a guess
