Shift linkage

So I stopped for coffee backed out of parking lot put it in first and it did not want to go felt like third gear had to slip the clutch to get going. I had two gears and the shifter would flop from side to side, no reverse, just third and fourth gear. WHAT'S MY PROBLEM???????

Sounds like the set screw on the linkage possibly popped out of place. It is located on the passenger side in the rear behind the triangular looking aluminum heat shield. http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/37-TRANS-Drop/images_large/Pic3.jpg The set screw is the only part in the diagram with out an arrow. I think it is a 10mm head. Good luck. I hope this helps.
