All the same under the covers?

After a skirmish with an SUV who apparently didn't notice that I was parked there, I need a new rear bumper cover. There's one on e-bay for a 03-04. Will this fit my '01 ?

Yes, they are the same.
Out of curiosity (as I'm in Montreal too) where was it that this SUV hit your car?

Any '97-'04 bumper should work. I was recently hit as well, really wish people would pay more attention!

Thanks!
Herve: I'm in TMR. I was parked in the arena parking lot, a good distance from anyone backing up! It was quite surprising that anyone could have backed into it, and with a fair bit of force!

Last three cars including the Boxster have been run into by other people. All of them too busy to pay attention. The whole distracted driver thing has gotten out of hand!

Ok, I'm not too surprised. I've seen quite a few soccer moms doing stuff like this in the area. Good luck with the repair, hope your car will get back to what it was before.

As any Boxster driver knows, especially when you are getting into the car from the curb when parked on the left side of the road, thes cars are very low! So I can understand the distracted soccer mom or dad backing their SUV into my little friend. But to just shrug and drive off? Do some people have no concience?

Hit and Run

WOW! If this sort of thing happens to the friendly folks in Canada, imagine what we put up with in the States (especially in Florida).
May the accident avoidance force be with you.

As a temporary measure, I glued the lens back together (China weld worked, Crazy Glue didn't take at all?!?). Took off the bumper cover and bashed it back out. A bit of hot glue sealed up the tears. Still looks ugly but if you squint...
Looking for a used Arctic Silver bumper cover.
History19: I don't think Canadians are any nicer than Americans, we just hide it behind all that politeness! ;)

Hey NewArt, I just PMed you. Here's a dirty car that I'm about to take apart for the engine:

I just don't know about shipping BIG parts to Canada.

I just sold my perfectly good rear cover for $200 a month ago. I languished for the longest time too. It had been dented, but I had popped it out and it was fine. What is the going rate for these?

NewArt 10-14-2014 10:55 AM

They aren't too expensive to buy but the shipping to Montreal isn't cheap. They are big and wobbly. :)
