2.5 ECU map spike

Can anyone shine a light on what could be causing the spike in my map at 5400 rpm on my 1998 2.5.
The guy that remapped it tired is hardest to remove it but with no luck, he did say there was limitations with the early ecu's and non e-gas throttle.
car goes well but you can feel a little hold in the power at that point before it pulls again to the red line. Also it only in 4th & 5th you notice it the most, 1 2 and 3rd are fine.

What mods did you do before the map took place?

I presume you know of Boxsa.net where someone who had used the same tuner might tell you of their experiences.

Yes i'm on Boxa net but couldn't get an answer on there..

Mods ive done are
Full exhaust system, no cat's
996 throttle body
Cone air filter (sealed from engine bay heat)
4" Underdrive pulley
Lightweight flywheel
4 Bar fuel pressure regulator

l'm i right in saying that the two spikes at 3700 rpm & 5400 are where it comes on & off the variocam
