Installing steering angle sensor in car with no PSM

My 2001 Boxster S Racing car did not come from the factory with PSM, so there is no steering angle sensor installed.

I want to install one (I have ordered the sensor) to connect to my data acquisition system.

Has anyone done this?

Trying to find out if the sensor should be supplied with full +12V or if it is the normal sensor +5V among other things?

I would bet it is 5V.

Any idea how hard it is to install? I notice in the parts catalog PSM cars have an alternative steering column and shaft, plus a few other exclusive parts.

Yes, I am also thinking it is 5v, as for the installation I have no idea - I have managed to get one cheap, but will not know anything until I get it (and if I get it)...
