P0133 CEL code

Anyone have experience with this code? looks like it could be O2 sensor, or O2 sensor wiring, anything else to check?

P0133 Signal Period for Oxygen Sensor Ageing.

Oxygen sensor aging is determined by the DME by monitoring the period (oscillating frequency) of the sensor signal. With an old sensor, the duration of the period is too long.

Reasons for this could be frequent driving in the lower load range (city driving, short distances, etc.) or a contaminated sensor. Bad wiring could be a issue but typically you'd get no signal rather than a degraded signal if the wiring was bad.

Clear the code and see if it returns. If so, then you may have to replace it.

I have zero voltage from that O2 sensor. Can a sensor fail and provide zero voltage or does that prove wiring is bad?

The sensor is most likely dead; you can confirm that fact by switching it bank for bank and see if the code moves, or just replace it.

You nailed it. I switched the sensors and they both worked for about 15 miles then the same o2 sensor, now on the other side failed again.
