Secondary Air System Readiness Flag

I've reset my CEL about three weeks ago and I've driven a good 500 miles since then but my SAI readiness flag is still reading as not ready. I'm not getting any error codes and I hear the pump turn on during a cold start... But no flag. Since then, I've reset the ECU to refresh the readiness flags and all have set to ready barring the SAI.

Reading through the manual, it looks like if there was a problem with it, a mil would come on

I've also been following this to reset the flags so I'm stumped as to what could be the problem

The cars been running fine but i still don't want to blow off this issue and have come back and haunt me later. I'd rather not start disconnecting vacuum lines if there's a better way of checking for the problem? I've googled a bunch of other cars and forums with this problem but those threads either don't show a definitive solution, or the problem results from a CEL. I stumped :/

reprogram to ROW
throw SAI away

Do you have Durametric to look at the O2 sensors (voltage) ahead of the catalytic converters during SAI activation/cold start-up?

My gopoint obd2 scanner lets me look at the o2 sensor's voltages. During start-up is there a particular pattern I'm looking for?

Very low voltage, 0.00 to 0.02 volts while the air pump is running. After the pump shuts off the voltage will jump up and alternate from .1 to .75 volts.

This is what I get. I wasn't able to capture the full start-up cycle because I was fiddling with the gauge to read the o2 sensor, but I got the last couple seconds while the pump was on. The Y axis is in volts.

Is this your new pre-cat sensor or the other side with your old sensor?

I duurrnnoo...

It's pre-cat sensor 1, I'll have to check if that's the new or old one. When I leave work today I'll have each of the four sensors on it's own graph and turn on the car to see if one of them looks off.

Does your service manual discuss what criteria has to be met before the SAI readiness test can begin? I know for my '07, there's about 6-8 items that need to be met first.

Regards,
paul....

Looks like that bank is working correctly. Paulv brings-up a good point, the system needs to be cycled a few times before it passes the self-check. Reading your first post you drove 500 miles since the last reset, I assumed there were a few "cold start-ups" in these miles?

Sea-Foam guy knows his SAI!

I am having the same problem. Went in for a smog check and everything was good except "secondary air not ready". I had put on new O2 sensors before the test, cleared the CEL and drove it 100 miles before the test. I have driven 400 miles since the tes and the secondary air is still reading "not ready". I don't have any CEL's and I don't have any pending. I have been cold starting the car every morning and I hear the secondary air fan come on. I've driven it 400 miles with no issues. The secondary air won't show ready. I do not know what to do. Help.
