Issue with convertible top

My top makes a crack sound that seems to come from the driver's side as it is opening at about one third of the way though the process. Upon closing the top it does not repeat the sound. The closing and opening process otherwise works fine. Anybody have an idea of what the issue is?

Anyone out there?

Probably any of the various moving mechanisms and moving parts of the top- especially with the colder weather. You'll have a hard time tracking down what is specifically causing it, but I went and got a can of lithium grease. Then I lubricated all the friction points, joints, and track and the squeaks and cracks went away.

Thanks. I will give it a try.
