spoiler 2001 car

I have recently bought the car and there is no owners book - is the spoiler deployment automatic or a manual switch/button - when should it work - is there easy access to the mechanism in the boot - thanks for any help

It's automatic. Goes up at (I believe) 75 mph, then back down at some slower speed (maybe 50??). It's pretty hard to see while you're driving...

I only know that it's been deployed when the handling of the car dramatically improves ;)

Supposed to go up at 75 and back down at 35 automatically. Also there is a manual switch in the lower part of the fuse panel cover by the driver's left foot.

Thanks - I will try the manual switch to see if it works or get someone to follow me at 80mph!

He's in the UK, so it might be down by his right foot.

Thanks as ever ! - found the switch and the spoiler works manually - I have an accident camera in my other car so I will place that in the back window of the 986 to see if the spoiler works at speed -
