Throttle Body & Plenum Set-up
There's been a lot of attempts (and, frankly, some have been "chicken scratch" ) to put together a larger throttle body (76mm-78mm) and plenum set-up, to include of the necessary hoses and hardware, for a 986 boxster. With that said, has anyone been able to devise a straightforward and well laid out set-up ? If, so, details please.

Yeah, if you want to spend nigh on to 1k for just the plenum and no TB. I'm referring to sourcing the appropriate 997 parts, hoses and hardware.

I do remember reading a post on that with part numbers etc but the consenses seemed to be that toget more power you also needed to reduce restriction in the exhaust system and most importantly get the ECU reprogramed to take advantage of it all.
Without the ECU retune its was all for naught apparently.

Not only have to read all of that, I participated in the thread as well. At this point, I'm looking for the simple Reader's Digest version that lists all of the parts and hardware, the best place to source them, and who if anyone is interested in putting together a "kit"for me. I'll gladly compensate someone for their time and effort.

I have done it. I haven't done a full write up yet and haven't loaded all my pictures but you can see it below. I'm using a 996 throttle body and plenum. There is another chap who used the 997 plenum but looking at them externally they look the same.
I have listed dyno plots for all the different stages.

I was considering doing a kit in the UK but cannot be bothered. It is too much hassle for no return and you have to stump up cash up front to buy the bits in, modify some so they can't be returned, only for some people who say they might buy them not actually buy them!
To be honest, for the Porsche parts all the part numbers are already out there. The "kit" just becomes the MAF to throttle body connection. I have seen lots of different attempts at this some nicer looking than others, some different diameters, some more complex etc. I will be posting a how to with part numbers etc when I get the time to consolidate all the info and photos.

JD,
Didn't @Meir do it. I'm pretty sure he at least gathered all the parts but never pulled the trigger?
I can't search righ now but i'm sure its was '986 plenum swap' or something. I have a recollection of all the bits being laid out in a picture and there was some blue silicone tubing, and some bosch parts?
I will try a search if i get time.

Hi JD.
sorry for jumping in late.
was very busy lately.
these are the parts you will need, in addition to the TB and tubing.
1 - 997 110 416 03 997 plenum
4 - 900 385 025 04 bolt
4 - N 011 524 27 washer
1 - 997 110 319 00 throttle body gasket
this is what i have:
the TB is from Cayman S.
since i no longer have my 01S (traded it for cash an a 99 base) i might consider selling the whole kit. just need to add a 3"pipe and a silicon angle at the air box.
shoot me a pm if interested.

ps, saw a car with the tb on upside down. this gets the actuator out of the way and allows you to rotate the plenum further down - makes finding a solution for the duct from maf housing to tb much easier.

I would reuse the existing rubber connectors and not use reducers. Also if you use the 996 Plenum you don't need a gasket or washers. You can also reuse your existing hose clips.
