Top Speed short shifter

I had a chance to let a Spec Boxster driver track my car this weekend.
I learned a couple of things that no 911 instructor or Viper instructor or other type car instructor could show me. The Boxster is unique and tracks different from other cars.

He on the other hand, learned the beauty of the Top Speed short shifter. He noticed the difference between our cars immediately and asked about the shifting.
He had a big smile on his face when he said, "I love this, it feels great, it's so different from mine"!

Win - win, I learned faster lines, he enjoyed the quick shifts of my car compared with his race car.

Is this shifter still for sale on the market? I've searched it before but came empty handed.

I love my top speed SSK! Notchy and tight. Makes downshifting at the track at speed much faster and less stressful.

Vertex has them as well:

Porsche 996, 997 Boxster Short Shift Kit Schnell: Shifter Pedal Assembly &amp Shift Kits

They also sell the kit and the end link together which saves a few bucks over buying them separately: Porsche 996 Combo Short Shifter Kit Linkage: Shifter Pedal Assembly &amp Shift Kits

Insite, did you not like the combo? I have the SSK and the billet cable end; it improved my shift feel about 300%...

bought an eBay shifter and it was the best $50 I ever spent! easy install and almost exactly replicates the B&M kit but for 6x less $$$

Recommend any SSK, bought the TS one as that was what I found at the time. As a suggestion, I would recommend putting the aluminum shifter rod in a vise and straightening the bend if you have a 5 speed. (It is designed to be angled towards the driver, but a little too angled for a 5 speed, in a 6 speed it is fine)

Is it not possible to adjust it out with the cable attachment points? That's what they're there for. I'd try that before i resorted to "redneck engineering"! :D

I liked it a lot. The soft console itself wore out & I replaced it with a 997 unit, which I also like.

Indeed the TS1 SSK shifter (and others I suspect) sits differently "at rest" on a 5 speed than on a 6 speed. Cable mount points were fine, the shift lever was canted at such an angle that it almost hit your leg when in first gear!

BTW the "adjustment" was not made by a redneck, just a country boy - with a tan from cruising with the top down! Very good observation tho!

@insite, I too have the metal linkage - which was $40 new. So, at $25 it is a bargain. It replaces a plastic piece that is 'most likely to fail' at the track. So I replaced mine before I had a problem. Cheap insurance to protect your track day fun! Highly recommended.
