Quick, well a 2003 base have a double row or single row?
 

I know this has been ask. I am searching but I am in a hurry. I sold my 2000 a few months ago and have been depressed. I found a 2003 base and have no proof that the IMS has been changed. How do I find out if it has a single or double row and the changes of failure in a 03.
The price is right. Just wanting to sleep better.

The dual row bearings were phased out in early 2001 according to the latest info. That means that the 2003 year cars have a single row bearing - but the only real way of knowing is to remove the transmission and inspect the bearing housing.

Just pulled the failed IMS from my 2003. That's why I'm in the market for a new shaft. Single row, and what I've read, exceptionally weak, from what I've seen, I believe it. Get it replaced.

ok now moved in direction of a 2007 S. Any good or bad here?

If you were worried about the IMS before, the 07 has the most expensive IMS to replace by far though a pretty good failure history so far. Go read the LN web site.

You gotta get to the '09 before IMS worries are behind you completely. And who knows what those engines will show after another few years.
