i'm not familiar with this tool, but just by reading its description, i don't think it will work.
this tool programs the key fob.
in other words it writs the code of the alarm to the key.
in the boxster its the other way around.
the fob comes with preset code, and the dealer enters that cod to the alarm/immobilizer/ecu.
for that reason if you buy a fob from ebay, make sure it comes with a code. without it, it is useless.

PIWIS tool

This can be done only using a PIWIS cable, available at the dealer (like this one $27) or at a qualified Porche garage.

Try also the following reset:
turn ignition on,
turn off.
remove the transponder from the column
push any button on the fob within 6 seconds.
This procedure will reset the key synchronizing again with the vehicle computer.

That ain't no PIWIS!
It's a knockoff clone Durametric that probably won't work
In any case it won't program a key to a 986

I think that you will find a lot of Chinese sites that make broad claims as to the capabilities of their cheap knockoff tools. They know that there is little chance of them refunding money, so it really doesn't matter if the stuff does or does not do what is claimed.

My guess is that the functionality that that specific tool has is for the Kessy system used on Cayennes with keyless entry. As far as I know there is NO tool that will generate the transponder code that is used on the 9x6s.
