Jumpy Throttle
I have a 2000 Boxster S with 42,000 miles, here's the deal:
--When shifting from 1-2, or 3-4, etc my throttle blips up a few hundred RPM once I disengage the clutch and start going into the next hear up. --When in nuetral and I step on the gas a little bit, its almost like the throttle gets stuck a little and over-revs (nothing dangerous but it should stop revving once the pedal is lifted). --No CEL Nothing serious, however its is beginning to get a little worse over the past 10,000 miles. MAF?, dirty Vac hose somewhere?? Any help is much appreciated. AC |
Bump......

Is it all the time or just when cold, hot or warming up?
Sounds like the MAF, O2 sensor or vacuum leak. You can try plugging in an OBDII reader that will record the outputs and resistance of sensors and see if anything is strange. That may help in figuring out which it is. |
same problem
hi krztaco..........
i have the exact same problem on my 2.7 boxster. if its any conselation to you mine has been doing it for the last 15 months and not got any worse, but i'm as intrigued as you as to what the problem is and what possibly can cure it...... i wait in anticipation steve........ |
The throttle happens when its hot and cold.
Anyone............Anyone????? Bueller............Bueller??????? KRZ |
I have it narrowed down to the following:
--IACV --Throttle housing KRZ |
Hi,
Excuse my ignorance, but isn't the 2.7 Drive by Wire? If so, couldn't it also be a Software issue? Happy Motoring!...Jim'99 |
Having a brain fart. IACV=???

My 2.7 has the same issue. I swapped out the MAF but it did not help. I checked for vacum leaks and found nothing. Now I am left with replacing O2 sensors and/or the throttle regulator. Does ANYONE have any experience doing any of these repairs???

Idle Control Valve, I think.
Adam - Maybe something as simple as lubricant on the pedal mechanism? Actually I'm having a similar problem on my Tip. Shifting manually, in 4th and 5th, I often get a noticable power surge around 3K or a bit under. It almost feels like it's downshifting although it isn't. Odd. |

So the question is, can this be done with the Boxster? Is there an intake hose like this that is accessible and directly connected to the IACV? Thanks! |
