Differences in 996 and 986 ABS/PSM system

As part of my engine + electronics transplant project, I will be putting the version 7.8 DME, 5.7 ABS, and wheel speed sensor modules from a PSM equipped 2002 996 into a non-psm 2000 986 S. Will PSM just "work", taking its inputs from wheel speed sensors and suspension angle sensor (part of the 986 Litronics option)? Are there other sensors that I will need from the 996? Also, does it matter to PSM that it's going into a mid-engined car? Do I need to get a proper 986 PSM/ABS brain for that to work right?

Thanks for any input you have
