turn signals do not make a sound, no "click, click, click"

My turn signal blinkers do not make any sounds when they are blinking or flashing.

I thought maybe something was wrong so I searched this forum and found nothing. Google search shows that apparently this is a Porsche Boxster thing

All 986s I ever saw/drove had very quiet turn signals.

My turnsignals on my Boxster S are also very quiet - almost silent.

It's just the car.

I frequently forget mine are on because they are so quiet.

Yup, it's true. My 00' makes virtually no noise whatsoever.

Ditto, I've caught myself looking like *that* guy more than once when I've realized I've been driving 10 minutes on the expressway with it on.

Often feel like an idiot for leaving the turn signal on, because it makes no noise.

In the summertime, you must run a higher viscosity to adjust for the higher air temps. Full synthetic is also best.

I would not use that crap. I would only use Porsche OEM synthetic blinker fluid or you may ruin your blinkers. Not worth the risk to save a few dollars.

You guys should have no complaints at least your blinkers are automatic. As part of the obsessive weight trimming program, spyder omitted the flasher module, blinker is actuated by touching a bare wire to metal, then repeating, at first getting the blink rhythmic is tough.

Thank god for that, I thought I was going deaf.

You would think they would have an extra loud flasher unit on them though, especially for top down driving.

Might be a nice little niche market out there for someone, I'd buy one.

You must have won the lottery, that is like a $3k option!

Even though the manual says 15k miles, its better to replace your blinker fluid every 5k. Be sure to use a high-quality synthetic, at least until there is a Blinker Guardian available.

Absolutely hilarious.

I imagine the whole "quietness" of the relays is a small attempt at throwing some luxury into our Boxsters. They certainly are quiet, and I actually don't mind that. One strange thing I've noticed lately is that sometimes when turning left I'll hear what sounds like very rapid engagement and disengagement of the relay (or those clicks one hears when you've passed that threshold where the signal will turn off automatically after your turn) when turning left, but the flashing doesn't get erratic or anyhting...it's very strange.

I heard this fluid is better than OEM... Has anyone tried it??

Looks like it's just OK...even the company has no problem admitting it right on the label.

Chief 07-18-2012 04:09 AM

I just use hand signals but sometimes I forget to turn those off too...

That's not strange, rapid engagement is common with Porsches, following erotic flashing

Lol, I think we're having a phonetic breakdown here.
