New Wheels - what spacer and bolts?
 

Looking at getting these wheels for my 2001 base

18" 997 TURBO STYLE WHEELS SET FOR PORSCHE 996 997 944 928 C2 RIMS AND CAPS | eBay

Can someone help me with spacers and bolts needed? I think I need 15mm spacer but not sure about the bolts. I am not too familiar with fitment and after searching the site didn't really find a straight answer. First pair of aftermarket wheels ever so I want to make sure I get everything right the first time with help from the wheel experts around here.

The fronts will fit without the need for spacers, but the "stance" probably won't be to your liking . The rears, however, will require 20mm spacers (IMO +50 is not enough offset) in order to give you the clearance that you need and 'look" you want .

Thanks JD. What spacers would you recommend on the front to change the "stance" to be a little more sexy? Also what size bolts am I looking for for these spacers? Thanks

Since the fronts are only 8 inches wide, depending on what size tire you'll be using in terms of width, I'd recommend bringing the front offset down to around +40 (i.e. 10mm spacers) . As far as lug bolt length is concerned, simply add the increase in spacer width to the oem bolt which has a shaft of 28 mm's . For example, 28mm + 10mm spacer = 38mm bolt, or thereabouts . Be careful, however, not to use lug bolts that are too long in the rear ! If they're too long, they'll protrude into the e-brake assembly and cause a mess .

Thanks for the quick replays JD. I didn't know that the original bolts are 28mm that info helped a lot as well as helping with the stance. I will begin my search for the extra pieces. :dance:
