Where did you draw the exhaust from and what size pipe did you use?
|
Did you buy the pipes from somewhere or fabricate yourself?
|
Cut a 36mm hole right on top just before the muffler. Have to undo that clamp and move it 10mm back from the muffler. Used 35mm o.d pipe and it's thick wall tube. Did'nt want the noise resonanting out of the pipe itself. Cut the holes with a hole saw and took the muffler and the pipe I bought to a metal fab shop. They bent it and welded it for $100.00.
I was a bit worried that with the pipes on top I might have difficulty getting the muufler back in place but no issues at all. The bumper is back on and you can hardly see the pipes with a bit of flat back paint. |
Does it feel any faster?

I was thinking of using a piece of flexible pipe that could be easily removed and then a plug clamped in the end so it's back to stock. |
I always thought the perfect compliment to this mod would be an electric butterfly valve, like they use in Hot Rods. Then you can throttle the sound from quite to loud, a custom PSE system.

Now thinking of 'tuning' the sound to my liking by inserting a capped sleeve in the outlet ends and drilling a hole in the cap. I will keep drilling the hole larger until I reached the desired noise level. Then just put a screw through it to hold it in place and so you can remove it altoghter for track days etc.

You guys realize Pedro did this Bypass hack 4 or 5 years ago, right?
Dewolf, do you have cabin resonance between 2-3k RPM? |

Any chance you know the dimensions of the finished pipe assembly? I'd like to do this, but would want to have the pipe ready to go ahead of time when I drop the muffler.
|
Pedro recommended 1.5" or larger pipe.
The smaller the higher pitch. |

Bit of video but it is horribly out of sync. I tried several times to get it right but to no avail. So close your eyes and listen :D
