Politics, religion and IMS bearings... The pelican part looks like a good deal, I wonder how many of those have failed. I need to read up on it, is it just the stock bearing?

I did not replace my IMS bearing when I replaced my clutch at 92,000 miles. Engine still running great with original IMSB at 104,000 miles.

And yes, I have complete peace of mind.

Here's the good news, according to a prior post the max life of the IMSB is 125,000 miles and you opted not to replace the IMSB at 92k and you are now at 104k. Based on simple math if you drive 12k-15k a year, you can expect your engine to implode in the next 1-2 years leaving you with a car that costs more to fix than what it is worth.

Personally I would have bought a $700 insurance policy and replaced the IMSB. $700 is a lot cheaper than $4k-5k

But hey, that is just me. :D
