Also you can order 7mm spacers for front!
Then you become this:
18x 8.5 51mm plus 7mm spacer = offset 46
18x10 63mm plus 23mm spacer = offset 40
This configuration should be perfect, but keep in mind, to use only 225/40 in front and 265/35 for rear.

Or you could use the 987 sizes of 235/40 and 265/40.

OK, you have me confused. You recently posted in another thread that 18x11 wheels fit on a 986???
The sizes I mentioned may not be OEM fitment to a 986, but by that logic you shouldn't use wheels from a 987 either.

Yes, thatīs right! 11 x 18 will fit on 986, but thereīs a lot of modifications to do and only with 265/35 possible.
For the 986, you can not use the 987 tire sizes, their not compatible.

As long as the wheels are hub centric (i.e. 71.6 center bore - which 986/987 wheels both are), then they're perfectly interchangeable . However, one has to carefully calculate how the difference in width and offset will effect the overall fitment between the two .
In the past, I've gone on record several times indicating that 10 inch wheel is about the widest that will properly fit on a 986 boxster .

Sorry Johnny, I meant I was confused by Spyder's comments, I know the 986/987 wheels interchange, it's done all the time (and that the O/S has to be correct).
The 987 sizes work fine, it's been done. They will be a touch taller, but not enough to cause a problem. Some may argue they fill out the wheel well a bit better.

I think, itīs everyones personal taste, which widths he use... for my kind of taste, 10,0 or 10,5 was not enough. My new wheels are become the widths in front 9,0 and rear 11,0 again.
