2.7 Engine on a 1998?

Hi I was wondering will a 2.7 engine fit on a 1998 boxster? Why or why not? thanks

Yes but.... your car will attempt to reject it because they communicate on different DME software. A 3.4L from a 98-99 996 is a simpler transplant and adds 100hp.
