Alarm interior sensor diagnosis
The interior motion sensor doesn't work. Durametric gives me fault 25 "w lead" and 33 "interior sensor faulty". I have power going to the sensor, but I noticed that the right side sensor has no LED, while the left hand sensor does. Is the right side supposed to have an LED also?
And what is the 25 fault? I couldn't find it in the P factory manual. Thanks. |
I dont think there should be two sets of LEDs. I only have an LED bundle under my left plastic cap.
That said, I dont think my system works either. Put your top down, lock your car, and exit it. Now reach over the window and open the door with the inside handle. I can open mine without the alarm going off :) |

Thanks for the info. I just don't want to spend $250 for the sensor unless I'm really sure thats the problem. |
OK people, here's how that sensor works.
When your top is up and latched, that sensor turns on. The microswitch in the hole where the hook goes enables it. To make it work when the top is down, you need to buy the little red clip that is sold for a couple of bucks and used to disable the top mechanism for speedster hump owners. I have one and always snap it in place when I must walk away from the top-down car so the interior motion detector will work. Now San Rensho, yours might be kaput and that's why you're getting an error. But you should buy the clip or borrow one from someone and test it first before you replace it... and then I'd buy a salvage one instead of a new one. They're not known for going bad. |
