Intermittent Horn Failure. Sometimes it works and then not.

Has anyone experienced Intermittent Horn Failure?
Sometimes the horn works and then sometimes it doesn't work.
I've tried to diagnose the issue with all the combinations of headlights on and off, etc.
I can not establish any pattern.
Any ideas?

No. But how often are you using the thing? I wouldn't know if my horn worked unless on one of the couple of times per year that I need it, it failed.

There is a metal piece with rubber bushings which activates the horn. Over time the bushings sag and the horn does funny things like not work , work when you simply turn the steering wheel or go over a bump. Pretty cheap fix and easy if that is what's wrong. Ed

Some have had success by filling the rubber bushings with silicone to stiffen up the bushings (there's a discussion on rennlist). This didn't work for me, so I just got a new frame for $60: http://www.****************************************************.com/product/airbagframe.html?Category_Code=POTEBXCC

Relatively inexpensive, you know it will work the first time, & you don't have to wait for the silicone to dry.
