broken washer fluid bottle

I've got a crack in my washer fluid bottle on my 98 boxster, but i can't seem to find any replacement parts or good instructions on the internet. Does anybody know if it's a good idea to do this repair yourself or do i need a proffesional?

Go to a hardware store and purchase an epoxy to seal the crack.

Make sure it's not just a loose hose leaking

Trying to glue the tank is a bit of false economy; the hardest part is getting at the tank it find out where it is leaking from. Then, depending upon where the leak is, you may still have to pull it to get at the crack, which is in a chemical resistant poly that many adhesives simply do not adhere to. Even then, to properly patch a crack, you should drill small relief holes at the ends of the crack to stop its spread, not an easy task with it still in the car. In any case, pulling, drilling, patching, and reinstalling a repaired tank that may or may not hold does not make a lot of sense when a new one retails for a little over $100…………

agree w/ JFP. just get a new tank. access through driver's side wheel well.

If you're going to do it - do it right. Either take it to your mechanic, Porsche dealer or take the time to do as already said. Remove the wheel, lining and access the reservoir. Once you've done that, you're 80% done.

mice or rats ate a hole through the bottle on our 02S. i think it was just over $200 to have it replaced at my indy shop.
