Alright, I'm convinced. Porsche gear oil is better.

After reading that Porsche gear oil is the only approved oil for the transmission, I bit the bullet and replaced the Mobil1 gear oil I had just put in it a couple of months ago with genuine Porsche. Its definietly shifting better, not a lot, but definitely noticeable. Biggest difference is going into first from a dead stop. With Mobil1, it would balk occasionally going into first, requiring me to put in neutral, let out the clutch and try again. Now it just goes right. Also, first few of shifts into second in the morning when dead cold were stiff. Not any more.

Expensive at $100 for the oil, but worth it.

Maybe that's why they put their name on it.
