18x10 et 65
 

I just got an absolute steal on a set of 18" turbo twists. Brand new tires and wheels are in perfect shape. I bought them off craigslist while on a trip. The rears are 18x10 with et65. They should bolt right on right? As they were off a 993...please reassure me so I can continue to have a happy trip home!

Was the 993 they came off of a NB (C2 or C4) or WB (C4S or C2S) or TT?

All I know is they came of 993 18x10 and an offset of 65....should be enough to tell whether they woul fit or not....

I have 10" rear wheels on my 2000 986 with an offset of 42. I don't run spacers and they look just about perfect for my taste.

I believe with an offset of 65 you will need spacers for them to work. You probably don't need to make up the entire 23 mm difference but I do believe you will need much of it.

I just purchased wheels for my '97 986 with a rear tire size of 18X10 ET 52. I had to purchase a 7MM spacer to get the wheel to clear the strut tower in the rear, putting me closer to a ET 45. I believe with a ET 65 wheel you are going to have to run at least a 20mm spacer to clear the strut, but I believe it will still work.

He's right, you'll probably need spacers. The tire size could be a deciding factor on whether it rubs or not.

If you get some spacers, make sure u spend a little more for quality spacers like H&R or Eibach. Cheap spacers may crack under stress. My H&R spacers are almost new after 2 yrs. I think I paid 130.00 for them. Yours will probably be thinner and cost less though.

You'll want to bring the rears down to around +45 et for starters . Just out of curiosity, what is the offset on the fronts ?

Damn. Damn. I guess my deal wasn't as good as I thought. I do have 7mm spacers lying around....any chance that would be enough? What exact size should I get if I need more??? I'd hate to pit hase the wrong size. Thanks all for your input

You need a 21mm spacer. I got mine off eBay for $15. Any Porsche 5x130 hub centric will work.

Dont forget youll need longer lug nuts for each wheel with a spacer. Theyre usually offered by the company selling the spacer. Otherwise you can have then specially made. Be sure theyre not too long.

The fronts will work without spacers. You may want to use some nonetheless to push the wheels outward by 5-10 mm for a more appealing look.

good thing i kept my 7mm spacers that i never used! Tried to sell them on ebay a couple times and no one purchased...it was meant to be ;)

you'll need 17 or 18mm spacers for the rear to put them where they need to be. I would recommend buying spacers that size with built it lugs and nuts, rather than using extra long bolts. Your existing bolts are used to fasten the spacers to the hub. It adds some weight but as long as they are hub centric on both sides you shouldn't wear out your bearings much faster. You can get them for 100 bucks or less used. New H&Rs will run you more.

i disagree. with only 17-18mm, certain tires will rub on the strut & ALL tires will rub excessively on the e-brake cables. you want 21-23mm spacers. this will allow you to run any tire from P265 to P285; you will still want to wire the e-brake cables out of the way a bit though.....

Anti-bling, I'd bet dollars to donuts those are 996 Turbo Twist wheels, not 993 Twists. Just a guess. Are the backs of the spokes smooth or indented? Can you post the part numbers and/or picture of the backs? Thanks.
