Squeeky Steering after Spring Replacement

Hi Need some advice...
My 00 Boxster failed its MOT on a broken OSF road spring...
I had both springs replaced as a matched pair.(genuine)
What's the Problem?
Since the springs have been replaced I have inherited a Steering
squeak after about 25-30 miles... (once the car has warmed up)
I have taken it back to the dealer and they say they can't find anything wrong
I was also told that it takes a while for the suspension to settle after spring
replacement and if I gave it a few hundred miles the noise should disappear...... Is this true?

I Thought if anyone knew if this was the case it would be you guys!

Regards
Andy

Usually the steering squeak is the lower ball joint or tie rod. If it also has a squeak when the suspension is bounced it may also be the strut mount up top. If they damaged the rubber grease bag when removing the joints, this could be a cause. But assuming they did not, I would look at the strut mount. Get some spray lube, I used Remington gun oil spray because it is thin and I had the bottle handy. Sprayed the control arm bushings, strut bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints and sway bar link. My steering squeak went away.

I love the way dealers think these cars HEAL themselves. I stay away from the STEALERSHIPS.
