I am pretty sure that “the drone” is something associated only with chambered mufflers, so there shouldn’t be a problem with this suggested mod. If we were talking about welding in some Flowmasters or MAC mufflers, I would completely concur with the drone problem. Of course, that may not be such a big deal as chambered mufflers sound good even considering their drawbacks…
