Warranty/Damage Codes

Hi,

I have a 2003 Boxter S, which has had some work done on it, and I haven't been able to find out what type from the dealer. The history has listed Damage Code:

"4440 013 000 1 2"

Does anyone know where I can get a list of Damage Codes and Warranty Codes? These relate to the Master Vehicle and Customer Database.

Thanks!

I guess I am still puzzled why the dealer won't supply this. Perhaps it is time to fire that dealer and find another.

Mmm. I have never heard of any codes that are specified as "damage" codes...maybe a dealer term or somthing? Mechanical over-rev comes to mind though...from experience lol. Ever done that?

Yes, the ECU will store certain codes, like "the car got airborne, or roll over etc."

maybe thats the full number of an OBD II code. Or it could be that Porsche Lap top diagnosis code thing.
Do a google search for OBD II codes and see if that serial number on the service records matches one from the website. I was going to print those out and keep them in my rear compartment cubby with my Actron OBD II code reader so I could quickly diagnose a check engine light while on the road.
