Paddle shifters

Am I able to switch from the stick shift to paddle shifters? I've seen 3 spoke steering wheels with the paddles. Is it as easy as putting in the new steering wheel and maybe changing a couple things around.

I'm no expert but the paddle shifters on the steering wheel are on the cars with automatic transmission. if you have a clutch/manual transmission I'm thinking it would be easier to trade cars....
