Lowering Top

Thanks for the reply. I indeed was able to find the relevant attachment point from what you told me. I'm attaching some pictures since I realize it makes things a lot clearer.

My car is a 2006 Boxster.

The first picture is of the seat above the windshield where the latch engages when the top is closed. When I opened mine the hook was out of the hole with the pressure switch and caught on the rear lip (top of picture).

The other pictures are of the pushrod with the plastic piece missing from the threads and the piece remaining on the ball bearing attachment. I used a US quarter and a 1 Euro coin to scale the picture of the broken/removed plastic piece.

Indeed the pieces are white plastic, I'll send a PM to see about getting some new ones.

As I said, I was pretty surprised that this could happen, and of course felt none too wise for doing it!
