Can someone post pix or a diagram of the underdrive pulley? It's like reading gibberish because I really don't know what this is or where it's located on my motor, but I'm liking the whole idea of more torque and HP for $150!!!
|
Not to speak for Jake. I just called thier shop and ordered it, sent in a check and 2 days later it was at my door.
Dont forgret the new belt. He has those as well. New bolt from pelcan parts. For randall, here is a picture http://lh6.ggpht.com/_wrxsG6O0kbU/SyQYUfdA28I/AAAAAAAABD4/QUL2IRN1wsg/s400/DSC02639.JPG |
hey Randall -
Here's a nice write up in the DIY section http://986forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23057&highlight=pulley |
Honestly I haven't finished all of my test work with it.. I'd like to continue gathering cold weather data with it through March before we start selling them. I also need to do an install DVD to ensure we don't end up having to support every install and that people don't make mistakes.
I did A LOT of work to jhandy's car back in the summer and knew he'd provide more information for the program, so I felt safe selling him one now. I have a whole new site ready to upload after the engine class I am instructing next week is over, two dozen new product offerings and more details on other services. We've been too busy developing to sell.... Thats my main objective; development. |
Spring would be perfect...my Box usually doesn't come out of hibernation until late April or early May. I'm putting this at the top of the list!
|
I have 3 in stock and consider them proven well enough to sell.. The cost is 275.00 with the shorter belt included, plus shipping.
Email info@flat6innovations.com and Dean will get one shipped out to you. |
I installed a light weight under drive pulley on my vehicle as well; albeit another brand. Unfortunately, at the time Jake's product was still under development. Nevertheless, I concur with his recommendation that its one of the best "bangs for the buck" a person can do to increase the performance of their vehicle. Go for it ! :)

how has this missed my attention? i was thinking "nah, can't be /that/ pulley" but look at that.

Thank you, I thought about this at first but I was afraid that I would snap the boss off of the case and be totally up the creek. Take care. |
Just ordered the Flat6 under speed pulley.
Can anyone help with the part number (or where I can find the part number) for the new crank bolt I must order from my OPC - its a 3 hour round trip and I don't want to get there and find I've ordered the wrong part.... |
|
Many thanks for your prompt reply jh.
I'll get onto my OPC today and order, though I bet its more than US$3-50 - more like $350 here in Oz... Did anyone use Loctite 243 thread locker on the bolt, or just tighten as per the Bentleys manual? |
it has green thread locker already on the bolt. like the caliper bolts.
|
That's great - thanks again jh. I suppose the OPC will want extra for that too........

Chinese Spammers- WOW. |
Well if we could put the Audi R-10 or R-15 Le Mans TDI in a Boxster I would go for that!
|
LOL!
Just ordered mine so fingers crossed will be able to report back in a week or so. First one in the UK? |
Fitted. Fairly straightforward as my local specialist had a tool to crank off the old pulley. Start to finish, less than 2 hrs with breaks and my limited ability :)
First reactions? Took it down the road and on to a Motorway and planted my right foot. Initial reaction...wasn't impressed. Didn't get the 'fizzy' quick response I was expecting...but then looked at speedo: 120!! OMG! The net result is a smoother quicker car and it's definitely noticeable, so as a bang-for-buck upgrade, I'm very pleased. I'm concerned with noise levels because I track my car, so this, a smoother air intake tract and a custom re-flash will be all I'll be doing from a power perspective. Get one! |
Can someone with the flat6innovations underdrive pulley tell me what belt they used??
