Is anyone running 245 (18"...40 or 35) on the front

on your 986?
how about on a lowered (m030 or eibach-type ride height) without rubbing / fender rolling?

I've got 225's on 8.5" rims (with 285s on 10" rims rear) PS2's now and want to 'square' it out a bit for track use...

I'm going to go with the dunlop star spec tire.
dunlop says you can run a 265 on a 10" wheel, but that sounds too stretched, so I think I'll only go down to 275 in the rear.
would like to get 245 in front, but from eye-balling it that looks too tight with my ps2's
so I may end up 235/275...which should be a decent compromise.

I'm running 245/35/18 and 275/35/18 Kumho XS on a 987 with no issues.

Last year I ran 255/40/17 all around with no rubbing issues, same OD at 25" to your stock 18 tire. I have stock shocks and GT3 front sway. I suspect the 18x10 wheels are a bit on the heavy side for the track.

What wheels were you running? Is that your BSX setup? Any other suspension mods?

17x8.5 all around. In 2009 the rules allowed 255 square "experimentally" to evaluate performance and tire life. I thought performance was a wash but liked being able to rotate to any corner to maximize my tire life. I got about 50 heat cycles before they were gone which is pretty good.

In 2010 the BSX rules require a 225/45/17 front tire so I am back to staggered. My only suspension mods so far are front GT3 sway with adjustable drop links. There are several cars that have maxed out suspension in our class but so far I have been able to hold them off.

I run 235/35/19 up front and 275/30/19 in the rear. This has proven to be an excellent, well balanced set-up for me. Most of the "tuners" that I have encountered over the years utilize the same. Particularly when using wider wheel sets with aggressive offsets.

I was able to fit up front 265/45 17 on 8.5s in the front there was no space but they "fit" that was just a test to see if it could work but i would run 245s instead obviously.
