Volume speed feature disables speakers

I'm still a fairly new owner of my 2000 Boxster S and I have a problem when the top is down where it seems that at a certain speed the speaker volume increases and shortly after the speakers cut out. Radio still appears to operate - just no sound. If I turn off the ignition, remove the key and start agin it seemes to reset itself and I have sound again; only to cut off again. Top up - No problem.

Any ideas - Thank you!

Check the setting for the sound differential. It could be turning the volume up too high and it cuts out to protect itself. My home system does that if I go to a channel with high dB from one with very low power.

And WELCOME.
