98 Boxster passenger door wont open, Please Help

After the snow melted i decided my boxster deserved a well earned spin, when i arrived back home my wife could'nt open the passenger door. The window does the usual 1 cm drop but thats it, its as if there is a child look on as it opens from the outside but accourding to the manual it dosent have a child lock. Any info would be much appreciated.

Try this first:

Give the door on the outside near the door handle a quick smack with your fist.
I notice that this solves the occasional issue when I am trying to get into my driver's door, and the handle triggers the window, but won't actually open the door.

Same thing on my 98 Boxster, intermittently. I give it a smack with an open palm if I'm outside, just forward of the handle, or a punch to the same location if I'm on the inside.
